HOW TO ORGANIZE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT IN SPAIN? 3 OPTIONS

You have bought a beautiful (second) home on the Costa Blanca and are now wondering how to get to and from Alicante or Valencia airport in the most practical way. It is a question that many people ask, and the answer is actually not that difficult… Here we give you a summary of 3 good options.

IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN CAR IN SPAIN OR ARE CONSIDERING BUYING ONE:

There are many low-cost parking options around Alicante airport, with or without a Meet & Greet service. The parking lots are generally a bit further from the terminal but are a very good and much cheaper alternative to the official airport parking lots. Some affordable parking garages:

Plane Parking, Seguro Parking, Europarking, and Topgear are some of the short- and long-term parking options directly next to the terminal or in the vicinity of Alicante airport. These parking lots are secured 24/7 and have a special airport service to make your travel even easier: when booking, you just specify the time you will arrive at the airport, and either a shuttle service will be ready to drop you off at the airport, or a staff member will meet you at the “Departures” of the airport. You can hand over your car keys to him/her, and he/she will drive your car to the secured parking while you can check in calmly. No time loss, no worries. Upon arrival at Alicante airport, a staff member will again be waiting for you with your car, so you can quickly head to your home on the Costa Blanca! Upon arrival, a simple phone call when you are at the baggage claim is sufficient, so your car or the shuttle service will be ready when you arrive at the ‘Departures’. Prior reservation via the online reservation system on the respective parking website is required. Annual subscriptions are also available, including an unlimited number of ‘Drop & Goes’. Check the websites for respective prices.

Similar parking options are also available at Valencia airport, such as Parkos and Parkvia.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CAR IN SPAIN:

Beniconnect Travel Agency is a transport service that offers shared and private transfers from Alicante airport to most cities on the Costa Blanca. If you choose the standard Airport Shuttle Transfer, you can choose from Economy Connect shuttle, Express Connect shuttle, Costa Connect shuttle, or South Connect shuttle, which connect most major resorts and destinations on the coast of Alicante and Murcia with the airport.

  • Economy Connect shuttle: Shuttle that directly connects all official tourist accommodations or within walking distance to Alicante airport. This is the cheapest option. Locations: Albir, Benidorm, La Cala De Finestrat, Villajoyosa. Rates: see website

  • Express Connect shuttle: Fast shuttle that connects the main tourist locations with Alicante airport. Maximum 4 stops and 30 minutes waiting time at the airport. Locations: Benidorm, La Cala de Finestrat, Albir, Alfaz Del Pi, La Nucia & Altea Rates: see website

  • Costa Connect shuttle: This shuttle service takes passengers from Alicante airport to the major tourist destinations on the Costa Blanca (or within walking distance). The average waiting time at the airport is 45 minutes. Locations: Calpe, Benissa Costa, Benitachell, Javea, Moraira, Denia, La Jara/ la Xara. Rates: see website

  • South Connect shuttle: This is Beniconnect's newest shuttle service and takes passengers from Alicante airport to all official tourist accommodations, or within walking distance, on the Costa Blanca South. The average waiting time at the airport is about 45 minutes. Locations: Ciudad Quesada, La Marina Urbanización (San Fulgencio), Guardamar del Segura, Torrevieja, Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, Villamartin, Cabo Roig, La Zenia, San Pedro Del Pinatar, Pilar De La Horadada. Rates: see website

Beniconnect also offers private transfers between Alicante airport and all major tourist destinations on the Costa Blanca (north and south). You can choose from a standard taxi, microbus, minibus, or larger vehicle, depending on the number of people. Beniconnect also offers VIP vans with free WIFI and water, and vans adapted for people with disabilities. Rates: Prices vary depending on the type of vehicle you choose and the destination. For rates: see website.

Of course, you can also just take an (airport) taxi on your arrival at Alicante airport. Prices depend on the taxi company, the size of the car and your destination, but to give you an idea, in 2024 you will pay €75 (on average) for a private taxi for 4 people from Alicante airport to Benidorm.

In short, there are plenty of options available to get you from Alicante or Valencia airport to your accommodation or home on the Costa Blanca, and vice versa. You just need to choose the option that best suits your needs and preferences, and then you can go on vacation worry-free and return home with peace of mind!
